Atlas records the physical, demographic, economic, and environmental structure of a place and how that structure changes over time.
Every measurement remains attached to place and time. Atlas connects land, parcels, buildings, uses, ownership, development, permits, demographics, movement, commercial activity, institutions, infrastructure, environmental conditions, and public attention within the same geographic record. This allows conditions to be examined within one district, compared between districts, and tracked through time.
The physical world is read through connected layers. Atlas combines land and parcels, buildings and uses, development and permitting, ownership and transactions, population and demographics, movement and access, commercial activity, infrastructure, environmental conditions, and institutions. Each layer contributes to the same spatial model.
Atlas records how places move. New development, demographic movement, infrastructure investment, business formation, land transactions, policy changes, and shifts in activity update the record. The value lies in the relationships between these changes, not in any single layer alone.
Ten districts under continuous reading. Miami is the current public Atlas. Each district is examined through the same structure while preserving its particular geography, history, population, and development conditions.
